We sadly also wish to bring to attention that the British landscape and environment is under threat once again from political interests. There is double pressure from the threat of Forestry Commission land and National Park sell offs as well as the proposed relaxation of the planning laws. Never before have so many organisations come together to protest these changes. As the 1980's Conservative Government turned the Ramblers Association into a protest group over plans to remove rights of way so this Coalition Government have brought the National Trust into the protest arena along with Wildlife Trusts and regional groups devoted to their local area. We strongly advise all our members, supporters and veiwers to join groups such as 38Degrees. Remember it is OUR countryside, can you imagine the devastating effect on National Parks if they were privately owned? One example of land badly managed is the theme park on the privately owned Land's End in Cornwall.

Landscape photographers are the historians of the environment and changes over the years are recorded by generations of photographers and make an accurate archive of our land. So far changes have not been for the better. The landscape needs our help!
